Diamonds don't just grow on trees...they come from PRESSURE!

So..how was your Memorial Weekend?

About 2 weeks ago I called a friend named Pete at a
Irish web site and asked.."Hey have you heard anything about
Golson having issues?"

It was about that day till now...I've not slept real well since!

I reached out to a friend close to his family...Nothing!

I chalked it up to just rumors...rumors about a young
QB destined for greatness this season....

That's when all Hell broke loose in the past few weeks!

Now...if you read my last blog I'm not here to mince words!

THIS SH@T HAS SUCKED!

This has been HORRIBLE..
I'm feeling crazy !

Now this is not a "spin" conversation!

This is not a "puppies and rainbows" type of article!

This is real...

It's happend!...He's gone...Will he be back?...Time will tell!

DO YOU KNOW HOW LUCKY WE ARE THAT
THIS WON'T KILL OUR SEASON!

Do you realize that if this happend to the majority of
college football programs they would be DEVASTATED!

Not set back...not "We will see.." but SCREWED!

What if this happend to...

Clemson
Tajh Boyd goes down!
Cole Stoudt with his 60 snaps as a jr. steps in!

Texas A&M
See what happens if Johnny Football leaves!
Matt Joeckel steps up?...he's thrown 11 career passes!

Oregon
Marcus Mariota blows out his knee...
3 star true Freshman Jeff Lockie get's to step up!

We have 3 VERY viable options at Quarterback!

Tommy Rees...Tommy is the Honda Accord!

He's not fancy....he's not fast..but he's CONSISTANT!

He get's you from point A to point B!

The bottom line is we are BLESSED to have a
senior with over 600 snaps under his belt!

With a career 61% completion ratio!

That has played at Michigan at night!
Won at USC at night!
Beat Stanford in OVERTIME!

This kid is un rattled by the FLASHBULBS!

He's seen it all!

We have
Andrew Hendrix!

I met him at the Touchdown Club of Columbus the year
before Tressel was fired for the cheating scandal!

I watched as Tressel damn near tear up telling Andrew how
sad he was he didn't attend O$U..and remember we landed him over
the "Heart Attack" waiting to happen coaching the Gators!...

At the Notre Dame Coaching Clinic I was told that this has been
his best year as far as development since they arrived!

That the "light had gone on" for Hendrix!

That if Golson went down...Hendrix could step in!

ZAIRE!

This kid was the number 1 QB in the state of Ohio...
We took him right out of Urban's back yard...

I talked to Zaire's buddies in camp...they said he get's up
EVERY day at 4:30 just to watch film...

A coach told me that Zaire is the most mentally gifted
freshman he's ever coached!

Zaire is the future...maybe this year...maybe not!...
Maybe after Golson returns?
Maybe Golson opened a window of opportunity he
shouldn't have?

This is our schedule!

Temple=Temple
Game one is a open scrimmage!
An opportunity to just throw some spagetti against
the wall and see what sticks!

Michigan
Beatable
Ree's has 430 yards and 70% comp ratio
He's beat them before and seen their place!

MSU
NEW QB

Oklahoma
NEW QB

Arizona State
Better have some answers by then!

USC
NEW QB

Air Force=Air Force

Navy=Navy

Pitt
NEW QB

BYU
NEW QB

Stanford
Better be ready!

So realize the glass is not broken...it's not jagged
at the top, and it's not gonna cut your lip!

The glass is...
HALF FULL

So throw some ice in it...relax and splash some
Jameson on the other half and let Kelly do his job!

GO IRISH and GOD BLESS!

Sack up...Wipe your tears away & Shut your mouth!

One of my favorite sayings in the world is,
ACT LIKE YOU BEEN HERE BEFORE!

Well we have...thats college football..EVERY TEAM
has been here before!

This week reminds me of a situation, almost
EXACTLY one year ago, with a player I won't
even mention by name because I know right
now EVERY day he is kicking himself for
leaving the University of Notre Dame!

This player had a bright future...he was an elite
athlete.  Had all the potential in the world but
refused to be coached... Refused to listen to mentors
around him, and to his own mother, on what life was all
about and how hard it could be if he didn't maintain the
path that he was on...

He left the school...watched his teammates go 12-0
and make an appearance to the
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP...
WITHOUT him...

I made a statement last year on some message boards about this
player...I said that our season would be just fine!
That losing him was addition by subtraction!

What happend?

Months later he called the coaches...asking if there was a chance,
a glimmer of hope of returning to the program that he once
wronged....and the answer?...no

Who was that player?

Does it really matter now?

A wall will not fall if it's fundamentally sound, built
by the finest brick layers...even if one brick is missing!

"But...But...Our front 7 is so good now...and looking at
2014 we will lose Nix...and Tuitt!"

"What if Vanderdoes doesn't come????"

"What if...What...if....What if...."

STOP!

This is the coaching staff that CREATED, and yeah
I'm using the word CREATED, Harrison Smith!

He was a gypsy before they came along...
"Oh..one season I'll live up here..next I'll try this...."
They made him into a first round draft pick!

This is the coaching staff that took THREE,
three offensive players and put together a defensive secondary
that was easily top 10 by seasons end!

This will fix it's self!!!!

I hate to break it to you...but Louis Nixs and Stephon Tuitts
don't grow on trees!

Kids with this type of talent, that can
ACTUALLY get into ND are rare!

They are ELITE and day one ready players!

We will land more of them...but we will lose some also!

At some point you have to take a 3 star and make him
impact like a 5!

You have to train and condition and mentor and
develop!

You have to BUILD a player into who you want and how
you want!

This is what programs like Stanford do, and NOBODY out there
is crying!

Let me tell you a story about a player from Texas!

He was a skinny 6'4 D End

He didn't have a extensive offer list...
Texas A&M before Johnny
Texas after Colt
Michigan with Rich Rod
...ND under Cholly!

He came to Notre Dame weighing 225 Llbs..
just a tad lighter than....Michael Deeb!

He wasn't 6'7 300lbs like Jarron Jones
He wasn't 6'5 240lbs and 17 years old like Romeo
He wasn't 6'6 260lbs like Tony Springman
He wasn't 6'5 260lbs like Isaac Roshell
He wasn't 6'5 270lbs like Jay Hayes
He wasn't 6'5 250lbs like Trumbetti

Heck...he wasn't as big as Marquis Dickerson the
new "walk on" D Tackel from Arkansas!

But with his heart and Notre Dame's influence...

He trained!...he listend and learned and turned into this:
300lbs of ALREADY signed
Baltimore Ravens future!

So stop your crying!

Don't tell me that one brick will matter!

Don't tell me that we can't win a championships with 4
defensive lineman like Kapron Lewis Moore!

Don't tell me that the sky is falling because of one player!

Well guess what Notre Dame Fan Base?

YOU are the Douchebag of the week!

That's right my beloved ND family is the winner of the
Jameson Irish Whisky DOUCHEBAG of the week award!

Why?...just like I said at the beginning...

Every team has been here before!

That makes me the biggest douchebag of them all!

Cause NOT every team has been here before!

Not every team has:

A 3 Time Coach of the Year at the helm!

A QB with NO CEILING for his potential!

One of the best sets of asst. Coaches in football!

15 returning starters from a regular season undefeated team
that actually beat a schedule that you should be
proud of and not embarrassed!

Unbelievable talent arriving in 2 weeks to re-stock the shelves!

And...a current recruiting class that has the potential of being
the best Kelly has brought to South Bend yet!

So...no!...not everybody has been here before!

Lets remember who we are...and ACT LIKE IT!

GOD BLESS AND GO IRISH!

Don't wish away your summer thinking FOOTBALL!...

When I was a kid the school year couldn't go fast
enough and seemed to take centuries to end...

Then summer break would come and I'd blink my eyes and
the next grade was open and ready for enrollment!

This is the dilemma of the football fan.
We want to see our team play...but hell the sunshine just
arrived and we've been looking forward to that all winter!

People e-mail me for updates?...well right now
we are in a holding pattern!

We'll talk recruiting later in this article but as
far as players?...nothing is happening!

So...Updates will come..but your gonna have to find
a balance to your excitement!

So...what's the balance?...Here is the balance!

It's called "Captain Led 7 on 7 practices"

In Charlie's last season I had the pleasure of being in town
in June and was able to sit in on a few of these "coach-less"
practices!

What these are all about is CHEMISTRY...the ability for a QB
to time a receiver...to know his patterns and how he breaks from
cuts, or the speed in which he hits his marks on a route.

It's where the seniors take the freshmen and teach them the
difference between just being BIGGER and STRONGER than
everyone, like they were used to in high school...to
here is the TECHNIQUE for going against players that are
BIGGER and STRONGER then you've ever seen before!

It's about DB's getting time to perfect their abilities against
elite talent...and skill.

It's where running backs show the QB that they can
do more than just run between the tackles and
build trust.

It's a chance for the O-Line to come together through repetition
and understanding without the worry of being monitored!

Spring ball is about learning where to be and when...What's your
responsibility on each play and grasping your role!

7 on 7s?...that's where the UNDERGROUND magic happens!

In my opinion there is more team chemistry formed in these
practices than any other time of the year!

"Seniors...I'm not gonna just give you the team. You're not
ready yet...I'll give it to you, when you've earned it!"
BRIAN KELLY

This is the time where the leaders emerge...there are no "official"
captains yet...but the LEADERS lead
and CAPTAINS are born!

So during the summer while your "wishing away" the
days till that first kick off..the team is growing and
perfecting and training and lifting!

Becoming...what they hope to show the coaches
come fall...is possible!

I'll be posting updates on these critical practices
as I hear from people within the program.
So...what's happing now?

This:
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

This class is already off and running and EXTREMELY
talented and exciting!

We have our RECRUITER now with Hood!

He's been ATTACKING recruits on Twitter and establishing
himself as the leader of this class!

My test of any recruit...who did we beat out to land him!

Elijah HoodATH5-11/221EVERYONE!
Quenton NelsonOL6-5/301EVERYONE!
Sam MustipherOL6-3/286EVERYONE!
Justin BrentWR6-3/193Committed

down!

Jimmy ByrneOL6-4/275
O$U & MSU
Jay HayesDT6-5/270
EVERYONE!
Andrew TrumbettiDE6-5/249
EVERYONE!
Nic WeisharTE6-5/215
EVERYONE!
Greer MartiniLB6-3/230RKG

We are firing on all cylinders right now and winning
the battles taking talent from across the country!

My top 2 right now?...HOOD & HAYES!

Hayes is the type of player that ND needs to recruit
EVERY season!...he's fast, big and has no ceiling!

Having Issac,Vanderdoes and Hayes gives us the
ability to remain dominant on the D line for
seasons to come!

He understands his place within a scheme and doesn't
overplay to try and make an impact!

Remember the 2011 USC game...there was a D lineman
in that game that OVERPLAYED and cost us a ton
of points...because he didn't know his place within the scheme!

Jay has tons of personality and reminds me of
Big Louis Nix!
And knows how to keep the fans attention!

ELIJAH HOOD

Where do I start with this kid?

He's a man among boys and has unreal speed for
a kid his size!

He refuses to go down and punishes anyone in the
open field that thinks they can arm tackle him
to the upper body!

His conditioning is second to none and he has the
ability to make an instant impact in the
backfield!

ND is SO LOADED at Running Back that
teams will have no idea how to cope with
the amount of non stop fresh legs that
can come off the bench at anytime!

BRYANT
HOOD
FOLSTON
MAHONE
GAIII
AMIR
MCDANIEL

We've struggled to get "A" elite running back
in the past...now we have several!

Updates?....Stay tuned!

Inside Info?...It's dead!

Excitement?....TONS!

So pick your favorite...light up a stogie and enjoy the summer...
The IRISH train is rolling and I feel sorry for
whoever gets in our way!...

GO IRISH & GOD BLESS

Good to Great!...IRISH STYLE!..

One of my favorite books on business is GOOD to GREAT!

One line that always seems to stick out to me no matter
how many times I read the book is...
"Doesn't matter where your bus is headed...but more
importantly..Who's on the bus!"

This flashed to the front of my mind watching the
NEW O-Line for the Irish!

Thursday, I was told that the staff thinks that the O line
RIGHT NOW, is better than at any point the entire
season last year!

That...makes me very excited!

One reason?...fundamentals!

The other reason?
Who's teaching class!

Louis Nix is SCHOOLING young Martin on how to
compete against the "elite" of D-Linemen in this sport!

Don't underestimate how unique this situation is for Notre Dame!

Wanna know why BAMA's O-Line is so good?
WHO THEY PRACTICE AGAINST EVERY DAY!

Our Line will face, on a daily basis...NIX-TUITT-DAY..ect!...

Think they will see anyone even close to that in the first 11 games?

What you don't see in a 2 minute practice video, is EVERYTHING
that matters!...In practice on Friday Nix lined up vs Martin and in
what I saw to be more of a 1/2 speed drill, Martin PANCAKED
Big Lou twice...then like clockwork Nix got
pissed and BOOOOOOOOM!!!

Let him know who was Daniel and who was Mr. Miyagi!

NIX KILLED HIM!

This was a learning moment...and one that most players
don't get until they face other teams!

The O-Line is extremely athletic...They move as one, and
remind me of cartoons I remember as a kid!...
Separate they are VERY strong...but working together
they can be one big...bad UNIT!

The run game I think, as RIDICULOUS as this may
sound...may be better this season than last!

Let's talk about who's gonna be taking advantage of this
iron wall!

GA III

Take a good long look at this picture!....

Cause this guy isn't on the team anymore!

Atkinson has been re-born into the LONGO transformation
project...He has completely re-worked his build and for the
first time since he arrived at ND...looks and runs like a legit
D1 1200 yard rusher!

And he knows it!...He hits the whole like a bullet and seems to
run with lower pad level doesn't go down after first contact,
and has not lost speed by adding more
lean muscle!

He's thicker...stronger...and more aware of his role in the offense.

CAM MCDANIEL

This kid realizes that under GAIII the slot is WIDE OPEN and
has taken advantage of every snap thrown his way!

Cam is smart...he knows that like the astroid in Armageddon
there are BIG ROCKS heading to campus in June...and
there is nothing he can do to stop them from arriving!

He catches the ball smooth...is fluid in the open field and is
like a 69NOVA...he might not be the fastest car
on the street...but he's quick and powerful!

He's gonna be a BIG surprise in my opinion!

WILL MAHONE

This is our POWER back...I love Will!

I think he's got all the tools and skill but hasn't
seen many reps with the first team O-Line...

Spring Game for me..is Mahone's chance to shine!

WILL...WILL IF YOUR READIN THIS...Don't
let a brother down!.... You know what your capable of!

Then...the arrival of:

BRYANT & FOLSTON

So...running the ball...I think won't be an issue!

Jesse Palmer during his Michigan breakdown last night on ESPN
said..."I think Michigan's first loss will be under the lights
to Notre Dame...Notre Dame will have a much improved
offense!"

So...you wanna call me a Kool Aid Drinker...sounds like
I'm not the only one!

GO IRISH and GOD BLESS!

NOTRE DAME COACHING CLINIC!...Haven't slept since!...

***My editor is off tonight...so forgive the grammar errors!***

With any great journey in life, planning is the first, and most key
ingredient to success.

One of my favorite things to tell a client, is how a plan is so
right, so AIR TIGHT that we don't need much to happen to
achieve our goals!

We don't need to make up for lost time...or the loss of something here,
or something not performing there..it's just...ready!

This was the feeling I had watching practice and scrimmage
at Notre Dame this week!...It's just ready!

There is a "quiet confidence" in almost every aspect of the
team...a mild but noticeable swagger to how they practice
and compete with each other.

I spent some time on Thursday with some folks in
the program and just like last year..they tell you
"We really got a lot to work on." and almost smile
as they deliver the words!

But what I think they mean is...."We don't need much to
happen to achieve our goals!"

Part one:
OFFENSE

Let's start with the obvious:

EVERETT GOLSON:
Where should I start?
For most of the practices I saw last year, and videos, I thought he
might have been mute!...Well the kid has found his voice!

He's the COMMANDER AND CHIEF on that field!

He reads coverage, moves around players...changes plays
and executes with ease!

He reminds me of a kid playing Nerf Football in the back yard vs
other kids that are 4 years younger!

He glides across the field!...smooth like he's sliding on ice with
no effort or worry of slipping!

His accuracy is unreal...putting the ball almost every time, where only
his guy can get it!....Throws that you watch and go...OH SH#T...and then
when it arrives, you see why he threw it!

You can tell he is making some of his guys realize that they have to
meet him half way...but it's ALL THERE!

He's dangerous hitting the receivers almost on command...most of the routes
I saw, he threw the ball BEFORE the receiver even broke out of his
route...he's years ahead of a second year starters learning curve!

If the receivers are all covered and he gets pressure?
Thats where the fun begins!

He's DANGEROUS when he breaks the pocket?
Fast...hard to get a hand on...and ALWAYS looking down
field...and makes the big play look very easy and effortless!

He will be a top 5 QB by seasons end!

RECEIVERS:

This is an interesting topic, I keep hearing the "We need depth!"
or "We are low at WR numbers!"

Well..that's not what I saw!

What I saw, was off season of 7 on 7s creating what might be
one of the most electric passing cores in the country!

Let's talk about who we KNOW will be nasty!

DAVARIS DANIELS-
He's a man among boys in my opinion!
He's fast...know's how to use his body and seems to have
figured out what his role is and how to maximize the balls
being thrown his way!

Great hands and range!...he catches EVERYTHING that is in
his area code!

TJ JONES-
Or as I'm staring to call him Mr. Consistency!
Death, Taxes and TJ JONES!

He's poised to break out and become the "go to" for Everett
next season...you know if you look at his numbers..theres an
argument that he already was!

He had almost as many catches as Eifert and most of the big throws
for over 20 or 25 yards he was in on!

He will draw attention and force teams to cover him with 2 people
opening up the door for the other receivers!

CHRIS BROWN-

Last year this was MR.GO ROUTE!
He was young...and inexperienced but we knew one thing,
HE WAS FASTER THAN ANYONE TRYING
TO COVER HIM!

Now?...Guess what..Happy's learned to putt!

The routes are crisp and clean and he's learned to use his
size and ability to jump and pin point the ball!

He's a bubble screen NIGHTMARE for D coordinators!

TROY NIKLAS-

At 6'7  260 lbs and fast!
He's the type of TE that would make Bill Belichick DROOL!

His hands are soft...he runs great routes and jumps out of the gym!

When he catches the 8 yard cross...he's a
TRUCK HEADING DOWN HILL!

I'm amazed at how ND seems to find these Tight Ends that
can make such an difference in a game plan!
Niklas will be a first round draft pick when he leaves ND!

Now...to the WILD CARDS!

CJ PROSISE-

This is the Matthias Farley of the offense in my opinion!

This kid has ability...it's raw...and still being honed,
but the player ran 7 on 7s this off season will make
him into a trained assassin!

He's got speed to burn..he's a smart kid from a good
school and wants to make a difference for Notre Dame!

He seemed a bit shy of contact...but that nothing new for
a young WR running full speed into a forrest of D secondary!

Once he learns that he's 6'2 and 210 and runs a 4.5 and people
dont' want to hit that as much as he doesn't want them
to hit him..he'll be just fine!

Let him ring some bells of corners or safeties a few times
he'll like the taste!

Everett broke the pocket... scrambled to his right..hit CJ going the
opposite direction for an EIGHTY YARD TD in scrimmage on
Saturday that was just beautiful!

JAMES ONWUALU-

This might be the most physically ready freshman I've seen since
Michael Floyd..and imagine that...they attended the same high school!

Not only did they attend the same high school, since the 8th grade they've
attended the same training centers!

Onwualu is EXTRAORDINARY...he can line up in slot...or running back
or at 6'2 215 he could be a linebacker!..LOL

No POSSIBLE way he doesn't see the field game one in my opinion!

He's smooth and precise and makes all the right reads and
is just too physical to be a freshman...I think he went through
2nd grade 3 times!...LOL

This kid has the ability to be a 1000 yard receiver in Brian Kelly's system!

On to the BABY ADMIRAL!

COREY ROBINSON-

Click on this link and use your imagination!
This kid catches EVERYTHING!...

He's long...can jump a house and has a VERY
high football IQ!

He will be a 3rd down and redzone MENACE!

So...the WR position?...No worries!

There is just too much to possibly cover in one blog!...

But I'll leave you with this schedule!

THURSDAY APRIL 18th second 1/2 of Offense

SUNDAY APRIL 28th Defense

SUNDAY MAY 12th OVERALL THOUGHTS!

I'll close with this thought:

 Our architect is Brain Kelly...
Our blueprint is nearing completion..
And this machine will be unstoppable!

And the beauty is...we don't need anything special to
make it happen!

GO IRISH and GOD BLESS!

Look BACK to realize the FUTURE!

Sometimes realizing where you've been, is just
as important as where you're hoping to go!

This is the problem with the memory of a sports fan.

You can't "rationalize", you don't have the ability
to see through the glasses smeared with your
team's colors!...

Trust me..I was born in Ohio!

But take a moment and walk down memory lane
with me....Now for all you looking for
"insiders" info,  this is the off season,
UNTIL I reach the coaches clinic this will be mostly
hype!... It will be my "opinion" with a bit
of juice mixed in here or there!

I'll tell you what I'm hearing from spring practice...but
not for a week or so...they just put pads on!

And...we've already lost one player for good...and
another for the spring!

So relax...it's spring ball!

Stop and realize what has happend in a short amount of
time since the arrival of Brian Kelly!

He's hit the ground running in his first three seasons
"1.21 Gigawatts style!"

Let's talk differences first!

DEVELOPMENT vs GRASPING AT STRAWS

Charlie could call some plays!

Charlie could recruit some "offensive" talent!

Charlie could think out of the box!

Charlie was not a head coach!
TRAVIS THOMAS

I loved the look of Travis Thomas!

He looked like he'd beat up Tarzan!
Then cry when he got hit by Jane!

This is my first topic of the night!
When Charlie announced in 06 that Travis
was being moved from running back to linebacker?

I thought?...Desperation!
This blame needed to be spread around...some
on Charlie, some on Ty!

But it happened!..and I was scared!

Why was I scared?...We lacked
DEVELOPMENT!

If a kid was a natural STUD..then great
but if we needed to develop him...uh oh!

Now...we have DEVELOPMENT!

In 2012 I'll be the first to tell you when I was right...and
when I was wrong!

When I was right?

Matthias Farley!
I called it when this kid hit campus!
He comes from a GREAT family with GREAT
minds throughout!
And he had the hunger!...he had only played
football for 4 years..and he was SMART!

Thank God for that BEARD!

But I was worried...We were gonna face great QB's!
We faced the best QB in the:
BIG 10
PAC 12
BIG 12
We were gonna give up yards!....right?

But at NO TIME did I think we'd have the secondary talent
develop to the point of being one of the best units in the
country!

KeiVarae Russel-Converted running back
Mathias Farley-Converted wide receiver
Bennett Jackson-Converted wide receiver

Now...when I hear about players being moved around?

I get excited to see what this staff can do with TALENT!

Troy Niklas-tight end
(My pick for BREAK OUT player of the
year next year!)

CJ Prosise now being looked at at wide receiver?
Why?...we have talent STACKED on top of talent at WR?

That's what excites me..what have they seen?

This staff looks for talent...not position!

On to upgrade number 2

TALENT

Other than Michigan being horrible in this game...our biggest highlight
was John Ryan's tackle of Charlie Weis!

Now...I'll never dog a player from ND for fear that
the fans will cry and try and "Lynch" me!

But I can only name maybe 3 or 4 defensive players in the past
seasons that Brian Kelly would have even OFFERED!

In fact...looking back we weren't fighting Alabama
for the Eddie Vanderdoes's of the world...we were
barely fighting the Virginias!

Now...when a kid commits...My litmus test?
How many SEC offers does he have?

What Pac 12 Schools did we take him from?

There are not a better group of recruiters in the COUNTRY in
my opinion than Brian Kelly and his staff!

Now...relax all you Saban supporters that troll this site...
or you UM fans...or Urban butt lovers!

Let's talk real for a moment!

It's a numbers game...what pool can you take talent from..
What talent can qualify...etc..

Let's just say this is ALL of the "elite D line" talent in the US!

The Blue section:
Bama
Ohio State
Auburn
Florida State
Schools where they, let's call it "bend the standards"
bit... The GPA needs to be a bit over "brain dead" to
qualify and as long as you've got less than one felony?..
YOU'RE IN!

The Pink Section:
Michigan
Wisconsin
CAL
Washington
These schools you have to go to class...the GPA
is a tad bit higher..but they will drop you if you're a
problem.

Yellow Orange Green Sections:
This is everyone else...
The "hot" recruiter so to speak like  "Ol'Miss" last year
...or the schools like Texas that just OWNS the state!

Now..on to the
RED SECTION:
This is the talent that is not only being
chased by EVERYONE else in the ENTIRE
country...but actually has the GPA and record
to qualify to get into a Notre Dame or Stanford!

ALL THOSE OTHER KIDS..we can't take!

This kid is a 5 star STUD being told by EVERY other
coach that the degree really doesn't matter....

This kid can go ANYWHERE he wants...he's got the talent
and the grades!...this kid is the 2% that ND has to choose from...

You might have 50 elite kids...10 can get into ND but you'll have fight
every other coach to get' em!

Smaller pool to choose from...still KILLING IT on the recruiting!

Then you have to deal with the dirty coaches!

Google "Dirty Football Coach" and see
who's pictures show up!

This is why I feel we have the best group of recruiters in the country!

The "Bay of Eagles Conflict" as I call it...the day's that Kelly was
supposedly interviewing with the Philly Eagles...we had
several players being just BOMBARDED by coaches saying
whatever they needed to say to try and flip one of our boys!

One story I'd like to share with you in closing...
One Midwest program was really putting in the
overtime trying to take one of our kids!

He told this kid everything...he threw story after story about
Kelly already taking the job....about Notre Dame this...
Notre Dame that...etc...

Now..I'm not gonna tell you who it was...but he
told every lie in the book to this kid!

But one thing stood out to me the most...he said, and these were
the ACTUAL WORDS...
"Why do you want to go to Notre Dame?...Your gonna
be in classes with 35 Valedictorians and you...with what
a 3.2 GPA?... Do you really wanna work that hard?"

Why?...Why be the best?

Why?...Why have a degree that in case you get hurt
can help you succeed in life?

Why?...Why worry about education?

And then we wonder why USA Today does stories like this.

Why?...cause at Notre Dame...They care now, while
you're playing in your prime..and after the stadium
lights are gone!

GOD BLESS & GO IRISH!
