FIRST THINGS FIRST!...
STARE INTO THE MEMORY ERASER!...
STARE INTO THE MEMORY ERASER!...
ZING!...BAM!...BOOM!...
No more USF game!....
Moving on my brothers and sisters!... This is the week!... This is the game we've all been waiting for!..
We're not gonna talk and harp on the negative... Our Defense last weekend was dominant!... Our offense can score on anyone in the country!... Now let's see if we can eliminate the stupid mistakes and put it all together in one nice big ASS KICKING MACHINE!..
First let's talk keys to this game!...
1. Momentum... After last week's game I would have given the nod to UM in the momentum dept. But now that I've heard from all the talking heads from ESPN...SI...Sporting News...We still have all the momentum in the world...We just need to not shoot ourselves in the face!...
Nod to=EVEN
2. Offense... This one is a bit more black and white...They have Denard Robinson who clearly can change a game in a matter of seconds...But after that, what?... I mean they have 3 capable RB's...but nothing special...decent WR's...but nothing special...offensive line...nothing special...
Nod to=NOTRE DAME
3. Defense...Do I really need to go into this one?
Nod to=NOTRE DAME
4. Atmosphere... 110,000 screaming fans....Night game...but wait!....BIG EAST REFS?... that's right folks for the first time in our series with UM we will not be using BIG 10 Refs!... (after the 09 game I wonder why?) The BIG 10 Refs with the combination of home field advantage would have made me give the nod to UM in a big way, but Tommy Ree's first 4 starts...
Notre Dame-Yankee Stadium-The Coliseum-The Sun Bowl
Big crowds don't shake Tommy!...
Nod to= MICHIGAN...but not by much!
5. Coaching.... 20 years coaching experience vs 5 Years and less than a 50% winning record?
Nod to=NOTRE DAME
But as always the Ol'Damefan wants to be fair so...
I'd like to take a moment to welcome a great lifelong friend of mine
Joe Bowman of
Joe and I grew up together and in my opinion is one of the best hidden secrets in midwest college recruiting!...
What do you feel the key's to the game for Michigan?
-Mostly no turnovers, we need to limit the mental mistakes that have hurt us in the past. At the same time we have to get pressure on Tommy early in the game but try and do it with just our front four. Then and most importantly somehow contain Michael Floyd. Floyd can put the team on his back if we are not careful.
Joe what are Michigan's strengths going into the game?
-The easy answer would be Denard after last season's game, but I really think it was not having to play the entire game last week. We are fresh and without major injuries.
Okay...What about strengths?
-Strengths? I will go with Denard there, he knows this team from last season and he kinda knows what to expect. Also, the home field advantage...The Big House can be an intimating place!
Which program needs this win more?
God...(laughing) That's a tough one... Notre Dame, I'd say needs it for the simple fact that they don't want to start the season off 0-2...But the thing is I think Michigan needs it also because it seems in the past that when this team starts to lose...it kinda snow balls from there..
I'd have to say it's about even on that one.
I'd have to say it's about even on that one.
What do you feel Coach Hoke is doing differently?
-The thing about Coach is he brings an aggressiveness to Michigan. Especially the D! We haven't had that in quite a while and you can see it in him... I really feel that's why recruiting has gone so well- they see the belief in Coach Hoke and where he want's to take Michigan.
What is your prediction for this game?
-This is the biggest game of the year for Michigan I believe this will be high scoring...
Michigan 32 Notre Dame 28
With the game barely 2 1/2 days away I am dealing with a lot of different emotions!.. I feel like I know what this team is capable of and I'm ready to see them unleash it on someone's head!...
But at the same time I've had bad dreams about all the mental mistakes that have kept us from where we want to be!...
This could be the week...this could be the game...the game that 10 years from now we all look back at and say..
"That's when Notre Dame turned the corner!"
I wish I could tell you what was gonna happen Saturday night in Ann Arbor...but the only guarantee I feel comfortable with is...
WE ARE GONNA SEE ONE HELL OF A GAME!...
Much Love...Damefan
GO IRISH!..
Oh...by the way!...CHECK THIS OUT!...
